Friday Fashion Fix

Edward Enninful and Lori Goldstein's first W magazine issue.

The all-star September 2011 issue of W marks the first full issue with Edward Enninful as the fashion and style director and Lori Goldstein as style editor-at-large. Collaborating with photographers such as Mario Sorrenti, Steven Klein and Mert & Marcus shooting the creme de la creme of the modelling world including Amber Valletta, Sasha Pivovarova, Freja Beha, Lara Stone, Raquel Zimmermann, Jessica Stam....ok I'll stop there. You know this is one September issue not to miss.

Giambattista Valli for Macys.

Wow, Macys is stepping it up and shifting into the fashion fast lane. Hot on the heels of their collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld comes news of a super collab with Giambattista Valli in October, just in time to bring us pretty party dresses for our Christmas parties. Priced between $50-150, the collection comprises of cocktail dresses, skirts and blouses as well as jackets, trousers and graphic tees. I'm hoping for the luxe label's signature brights and texture. And that they ship internationally! The collaboration is a good move, Giambattista Valli is a little under the radar and will appeal to a different, more discerning fashion market.

Kate Bosworth for Vanessa Bruno.

Kate Bosworth looks so beautiful in the Vanessa Bruno campaign, the perfect fit for this Nordic-inspired collection.

Victoria's Secret opening in the UK.

Major news! Boux Avenue, La Senza et al, you better step your game up, Victoria's Secret is landing on Bond Street next year and I can't wait. Let's hope that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and the other Angels put on a Victoria's Secret show for London to mark the occasion.

Mango/Stylist 'Work It' event

Earlier this week, I attended a workwear inspiration at Mango in association with my weekly essential magazine Stylist. As someone who’s workwear wardrobe is a drab sea of black, I was eager to get some workwear inspiration and inject a little more personality and fashion into my workwear wardrobe. I think it's all to easy to fall into the boring black rut and get into the mindset that trends are for the weekend.

Glenda Marchant, publisher of Stylist, said: "‘Trying to balance dressing on trend with looking smart and business like is not always easy and the Mango range is helping women to achieve that difficult balance.

The stylists took us through several trends they put together including Jil Sander brights, Celine minimalism, Marc Jacobs Seventies and Prada stripes showing us that it's super easy to incorporate on-trend looks into your work wardrobe.

Don't just take my word for it though. Mango and Stylist magazine are running a competition on the Mango Facebook page to win one of 20 'Work It' parties to win £50 to spend at Mango and 40% off for your friends.
