London Fashion Week: John Rocha AW14

Inspired by dark Icelandic skies, John Rocha's collection featured a moody colour palette of charcoal grey, black and moss green. Signature crochet was complemented with the oversize fluffy ruffley layers that I've enjoyed for the last few seasons, bringing a softness and romance to what could have been a stark collection. Bold cherry red punctuated the predominantly dark collection creating upbeat flashes. The red ruffle dress complete with matching head piece wowed the crowd, who were completely mesmerized. John Rocha introduced new winter florals  that truly captivated the fashion crowd.

London Fashion Week: John Rocha AW13

The John Rocha autumn/winter 2013 show opened with a pretty, frothy strapless gown adorned with 3D chiffon flowers, the perfect antidote to the stark winter nights. The romantic, marshmallow, flower strewn gowns contrasted with the colourful coats worn as capes which formed the foundation of the collection. Silhouettes were voluminous and slouchy with the occasional nipped in waist. There were darker undertones to the collection, denoted by the widow-esque veils and dramatic openwork wool dresses slashed along the seams. Dark drama for autumn/winter, utter perfection from Rocha.

LFW - John Rocha SS12

The two queues for the hugely popular John Rocha show both snaked around the corner of the tents, the sign of his status as a hugely respected designer. It's nice to know that some British designers choose to show in London and not abscond to New York or Paris. Of course, no matter where they show, the big names still attract big crowds and big talent. The John Rocha show started with a boom, thanks to the opening model, none other than Abbey Lee Kershaw. Inspired by mythical warriors and woodland creatures, the mainly monochrome collection showed a continuation of his exploration into beauty and form. Using traditional corsetry methods, he created a strong silhouette in his structural pieces, which seemed both fragile and strong at the same time. Black fringing, strands and feathers mixed with delicate knits, raffia and tufted lace in this majestic collection.
