How To Go Bronde With L'Oreal

Finally! That (not actually) grey area in between blonde hair and brown finally has a name – bronde. For years, I’ve envied and replicated the shade beloved by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Olivia Palermo, Gisele and Jennifer Aniston but I’ve never known the name so I’ve always saved hundreds of pictures to my phone to describe the exact gorgeous shade I was after.

My colourist at Joe’s Salon has taken me bronde on many occasions; the first time was an ombre bronde about five years ago and again recently as I transitioned from blonde back to dark hair. The reason I love and tend to return to bronde is because it’s quite frankly a beautiful shade which suits my skin whether it’s in the depths of a British winter or when I’m super tanned in summer and it always looks so chic whether I wear my hair sleek or tousled with salt spray.

Although bronde is so chic and timeless, it can be a tricky colour to achieve – it looks effortless but my colourist always lifts my naturally dark hair to a uniform bronde base with multi-toned micro-highlights to give it subtle luminosity. It’s so hard to distinguish how many colours have been weaved into the colour as they’re so subtle but it’s usually four or five different honey tones!

Hot on the heels of their successful ombre home colour collection, L’Oréal have just released a collection of bronde home colours to help you achieve the super covetable hue at home. Christophe Robin, Global Hair Colourist at L’Oréal Paris explains: ‘The correct one should be two or, at most, three shades above your natural colour. Courtesy of L’Oréal Paris Préférence Glam Bronde we have a new generation at home bronde kit designed to do exactly this, by scattering the most subtle blonde, bronze, beige and honeyed tints throughout the hair.”

The L’Oréal Paris Préférence Glam Bronde collection is available nationwide now.
