For anyone who was slightly disappointed with the looks at the Met Ball this year (seriously, respect the dress code!), this year's Cannes Film Festival has been a godsend. The A-listers and their stylists really bought their A-game to the South of France with the likes of Elie Saab Couture, Atelier Versace, Oscar de la Renta and Chanel all making for stunning red carpet appearances. There have been some absolutely fantastic looks but my one to watch is undoubtedly Blake Lively. Blake is always beautiful on the red carpet but she really raised the stakes in Gucci Premiere at the Met Ball and she certainly didn't disappoint on the Cannes red carpet either.
Her first outing in a merlot coloured gown with a structured bodice and cheeky flash of leg really wowed. The second Gucci Premiere gown which was a decadent, monochrome number wasn't a favourite of mine, but only when compared to her other looks. Am I being too harsh? The intricately embellished ankle length Chanel number looks like it was designed and made with Blake in mind - you can't blame Karl for falling under Ms Lively's spell. My favourite look wasn't actually a red carpet outing, it was for Blake's appearance on the Grand Journal TV show but the exquisite Giambattista Valli dress she wore is just perfection.
What's your favourite Blake Lively look from Cannes?
