NYFW: Y-3 spring/summer 2014

Yohi Yamamoto teamed up with renowned art director Peter Saville for Y-3's spring/summer 2014 collection, which was a riot of Saville's hyper-colourful digital prints against Yamamoto's signature laid back, languid silhouette. Entitled "Meaningless Excitement", the collection embodied a love/hate relationship with digital culture - celebrating it's highs and critiquing the relentless pursuit of the next big thing. The acid-bright prints, distorted slogans and distorted images contrast sharply with strictly controlled, refined Japanese tailoring to create a completely new aesthetic for American sportswear.
