Friday fashion fix

Stella McCartney wins big at the British Fashion Awards.

This week saw the prestigious British Fashion Awards where Stella McCartney rounded off a fantastic year by winning two of the most coveted awards: Designer of the Year and Designer Brand of the Year. Congratulations, Stella!

Alexander Wang is the new favourite for Balenciaga.

Christopher Kane was the initial front runner to replace Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga, especially after reports came that he has left Versus. However, Cathy Horyn is now reporting that Alexander Wang is the new favourite, which is a surprise as his casual, slouchy streetwear-inspired line is the polar opposite of Balenciaga's luxe, structured silhouettes. What do you think of the latest rumour?

Are PPR looking to invest in Christopher Kane?

Meanwhile, another rumour in another town - Balenciaga owner PPR is said to be interested in Christopher Kane and investing in his label.

J.W. Anderson collaborates with Versus.

This week's news is like a pack of dominoes, isn't it? With Christopher Kane out at Versus, there was a gap in their design team. Instead of replacing Kane, Versus have tapped another leading British design talent, J.W. Anderson. He is set to be the first designer to create a capsule collection for the brand which will include womenswear, menswear and accessories. Really excited to see how this pans out.
