London Fashion Week: Corrie Nielsen SS12

Corrie Nielsen's spring/summer collection is entitled Florilegium, which is Latin for the gathering of flowers. Inspired by the beautiful botanic gardens at Kew, Corrie reinterprets florals in her signature dramatic, Victorian touch. The soft colour palette of blush shades, pale green and muted blue tones, the subtle shades allow for Corrie's sculptural tailoring to take centre stage. The entire collection was exquisite, the detailing and manipulation of fabric is masterful. My standout piece was the final piece, the wedding dress. Inspired by Darwin's theory of evolution, the dip-dyed dress features large sculptural petals in a gradient of grey which are ribboned in at the waist and followed by trailing swathes of ivory silk. A real show stopping collection from one of my favourite London Fashion Week designers.
