Friday Fashion Fix

Bottega Veneta's perfume campaign

Bottega Veneta have just released their third and final short film for the launch of their first women's fragrance, which features behind-the-scenes footage of Bruce Weber shooting the beautiful Nine d'Urso for the advertising campaign.

V Magazine brings back supermodels.

Bringing supermodels after a two year haitus is a pretty bold move, resulting in four super eyecatching covers featuring two models apiece. Styled by Carine Roitfeld, the result is visually stunning and vibrant. It's hard to pick a favourite but I think Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls pip the others to the post. Carine says: “These eight girls are unique, not one is like the other. Candice is the only blonde and blue-eyed of this new generation of supermodels. Joan is black, Sui He is Asian, Hanaa is North African. It’s their diversity that makes each of them, to me, truly modern. They bring a new energy to fashion.”

The full Gareth Pugh for MAC collection

I'll hold my hands up, I don't normally buy into the MAC collaborations. Sure, some of them have looked fairly interesting but hey, it's make up and I'm a fashion girl. I only half listened when they announced their collaboration with Gareth Pugh a few months ago but now that I've seen it, boy oh boy am I sitting up and paying attention! It's a great collection with all of the darkness and edge you would expect from Pugh along with some more unexpected nude shades. The collection is pretty comprehensive too, comprising of cream shadows, beautiful lipglass', lipsticks, powder, liners, angular false lashes and a make up bag. Inspired by butterfly wings and beetles, more than evident by the shades of the I-want-them-now iridescent nail lacquers. The collection is available from December, hello Christmas wish list!

Lulu Guiness SS12 press day

Lulu Guinness is always a little breath of fresh air during the relentless, seemingly never ending press day schedule. I always walk into the venue a little late and a lot stressed but walk out refreshed with a smile on my face. It's hard not to walk away from the Queen on Quirk feeling lighthearted, her super fun designs are so infectious. Lulu was inspired by holidays for her spring/summer 2012 collection; evident by the cool neutral colour palette, sunglass details, quirky prints and camera-inspired designs. I've fallen for the updated Doll Face bags, she is looking effortlessly chic in her sunnies! The lips clutches are still on my lust list too, the nude pastel shades look so fresh while the snakeskin version are just such a statement.

The autumn/winter 2011 and cruise collections are available to buy now on the Lulu Guinness site.

Taylor Tomassi Hill's first editorial for The Block

Taylor Tomasi-Hill has another feather in her stylish, perfectly tilted cap. Style and accessories director for Marie Claire US, perennial style blog favourite, creative consultant at Sigerson Morrison and now model. Here are some snaps from her shoot for The Block. I love these shots, her face is so beautifully emotive but my favourites are the softer looks; the blush-coloured lace Valentino and the white tulle ballerina Marchesa.

Your have four weeks notice to book the morning off and sharpen those elbows; the Versace for H&M collection is out on Thursday 17th November! Next Christmas press day 2011

Held at the cavernous Old Billingsgate Market, Next's Christmas 2011 press day was a bit of an extravaganza. Earlier in the afternoon, they had a star-studded fashion show with the likes of Jourdan Dunn and Geri Halliwell taking to the catwalk! By the time I arrived, everything had calmed down and I had plenty of time to peruse the collections. Daywear is bold, bright and cosy with lots of snuggly puffa jackets to keep you warm and ditsy prints to brighten up your wardrobe while eveningwear is heavily embellished with liberal smatterings of sequins and beading on gorgeous sheer fabrics and sumptuous jewel tones. The beaded flapper dresses were my favourites as well as the shoes. Those snakeskin heels have just a hint of Yves Saint Laurent about them, don't they?

The gorgeous homeware collections are also worth a mention, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I do love traditional red and green at Christmas but the icey blue, winter wonderland colours are so chic.

The kids collections are adorable, aren't they?! Really looking forward to dressing my neices up in the pretty party dresses. My nephew is a little too young to be sorting that dapper suit and bow tie combo but next year....!
