TK Maxx AW11 press day

Every fashionista has her secrets, whether it’s being on a first name basis with sales assistants at your favourite boutique or having the 411 on the latest sample sales. It’s a bit of hard work though, isn’t it? As much as I love spending a ridiculous about of time in Selfridges, I don’t think anyone there actually knows my name. Sample sales sound great in theory – I mean who wouldn’t love an Erdem skirt for £100 – but you need sharp elbows and eyes like a hawk to get anything decent. As much as I love a bargain, I need my shopping to be a little calmer and more organised. That’s why my little shopping secret is TK Maxx. I know the common misconception is that it’s old season stock and stores look like a jumble sale but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The majority of stock is current season while a small percentage is past season and the shops are well laid out. Larger stores have a Gold Label section, which features the likes of Stella, Versace and Marni with up to 60% off.
The fashion focus of TK Maxx was very much evident at their autumn/winter 2011 press day. The key trends you can expect in store include Country Heritage, Seventies and Jewel Colours, showing that the buyers definitely have their finger on the fashion pulse. The preview of their Christmas range really blew me away. Think Moschino, Giambattista Valli and lots of faux fur. My top tip is to check out the store on Charing Cross Road, it’s big, very boutique-y and has an awesome Gold Label section.
