New Look SS11 press day

This week was a good week, highlights so far have included:a new hair colour, a haircut, great week at work, retail therapy a sample sale, dinners with friends and the ultimate highlight - the New Look press day. I look forward to this press day all season. As one of the biggest fast fashion retailers on the high-street, attending the press day gives me an instant insight into how we will all be dressing next season. So what did I discover? The colourful and cute collection is very vintage inspired, taking cues from both the 60s and 70s. Proportions varied from fitted and tailored with 60s miniskirts and billowing, flowy 70s silhouettes with gorgeous bootcut flares and chic halterneck jumpsuits. There was also a very preppy collection with argyle twinsets, varsity jackets and pleated gym-style skirts.

In terms of colour, it was a whitewash with pale neutrals and whites. The colours very Alexander Wang SS11. Camel continues to be a huge colour story too. New Look have also bought heavily into brights, with colourful spring macs and pegleg trousers taking centre stage. Denim and prints continue to be on trend, with florals, Christopher Kane-esque gingham, tribal and bluebird prints. The collection had some lovely textures with crochet, silk, lace and fringing/tassels. Spring needs to get here sharpish, I've already got a dozen things on my wishlist!

Here are some pictures I took on the day...
