Hai-tee

Quite often an international disaster will capture the attention of the global media, intense focus and attention on the area and problem...that is until something newer/more interesting comes along. Don't get me wrong, a lot of amazing fundraising work takes place but support and aid needs to continue to help rehabilitation. The earthquakes in Haiti for example may seem like a distant memory, 6 months on and there is little mention in the media. Lots of aid was provided, but there is still so much work which needs to be done. Around 800,000 children are living in temporary camps, diseases are spreading dangerously and many people still need medical assistance and re-homing. Conditions are still terrible, with poor roads and living conditions in the capital Port-au-Prince.

Sadly, a lot of the donation lines which were set up are now closed. You can still donate through certain organisations such as Unicef and the Red Cross. Wale Adeyemi has designed a t-shirt in association with the Red Cross to raise funds and awareness for Haiti, with 100% of the profits going to the Red Cross fund. Besides being for a fantastic cause, the cut of the first vest top is amazing. The t-shirt is £25 and available here
