NY vs. London

Wow, it’s all kicking off in fashion. The CFDA has announced that New York Fashion Week will run from February 13 to 20...straight over London Fashion Week. NY Fashion Week traditionally runs from February 6 to 13, however, the CFDA is trying to shake things to up top its memebers having to show over Labour Day.

So far, it’s looking like London Fashion Week will now only have four days to show, inbetween February 21 (the day after NY Fashion Week ends) and February 24 (the day before Milan Fashion Week). There was much speculation about showing the..er..shows online, however The British Fashion Council have said that a full London schedule will go ahead as oon as the dates are worked out. I don’t really see how London can be cut down to four days, London is always seen as the vivacious, effervesent fashion capital. There are so many amazing designers who show at London, from established names such as Aquascutum and Vivienne Westwood to newkids on the fashion block such as Christopher Kane and Gareth Pugh. Let’s hope someone can work something out!
