Kokosalaki's back

Sophia Kokosalaki had pretty much dropped of the fashion radar for the last year. But now the Greek designer is back and whipping the fashion world into a frenzy, with a new venture into the highly competitive world of premium denim. Her first ever pre-collection line, which is set to drop in SS ’09, is already attracting a lot of press and attention. The 6-piece collection will be all black, Kokosalaki’s signature colour, and include jackets, jeans, shorts and mini-skirts. Her trademark lyre emblems and graphic stitching will be transfered onto luxe Japanese denim for a “London steet-style feel”. Kokosalaki stated, “This collection is very me. I wear denim all the time and I always wear black”.

During her career, Kokosalaki has recieved numerous awards, including the Elle Designer Award New Gen Designer Award. In Autumn 2006 she was appointed Creative Director of Vionnet fashion house, but resigned in May 2007 to concentrate on the development of her own label, which regularly recieves editorial from Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and W.
