Chanel hits DSM

Dover Street Market is always a pretty special shopping space in London, more gallery/museum than store. The iconic DSM retail space is one of the most directional fashion and lifestyle stores, which is home to hard-to-come-by brands such as Pierre Hardy, Azzedine Alaia, Ganyru and of course Comme des Garcon.

The news that a temporary Chanel boutique will be set up in DSM has had fashion tongues wagging for months; after all Chanel is very precious about the distribution of their ready-to-wear, it’s only ever sold in Chanel boutiques and concessions. The boutique opened on 9th June and will occupy five floors until 25th June. It features limited edition pieces as well as iconic pieces from the Metiers d’Arts Paris-Londres Collection. The collection was established in 2002 following Chanel’s acquisition of 7 specialist Parisian ateliers.

The Chanel Paris-Londres Party was attended by Jasmine and Daphne Guiness, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Astrid Munoz, Henry Holland and of course Agyness Deyn. I’m often confused by all the hype surrounding Agy, sure, she has a pretty enough face but I’m just getting bored of seeing her everywhere. And her dress sense is haphazard, it’s nothing to rave about. Take her choice of outfit for the Paris-Londres party, I like bright accessories as much as the next girl, but this is overkill. The bag, gloves and socks are just too much, it looks like she’s trying to hard. I love the dress though.
